• I started my research in Feb. 1995. Initially I was commissioned to carry out an EA of an ex-pyrotechnics site to determine the likelihood of contamination in the water, soil and buildings. This EA was conducted in parallel to my research into contaminated land

  • Fieldwork experience: Through my EA experience I have had experience in collecting water, soil and building swab samples.
  • Residential fieldcourses: I have attended and acted as part of a team of staff on 3 undergraduate field courses, where I have been involved in ecological assessments, surveying and mock EA's.
  • Laboratory experience: Preparation of water, soil and building swab samples. Analysis of those samples through various equipment and interpretation of the results.

  Teaching experience: I have prepared and given lectures, tutorials and am currently acting as a second supervisor for an undergraduate conducting a contaminated land research project.

  I worked for a building contractors during the summer holidays ordering supplies and doing general clerical duties.

• 1994 - 1995 CATPLANT LTD
  I worked for a plant hire/demolition company collecting materials and driving machines.

Additional Information

On completion of my PhD, I am looking for a post within a consultancy to develop my knowledge and experience in contaminated land identification and assessment.
I have an interest in personal computing, photography, hiking and Mini's (I am a member of a Mini 30 register).
